Why 225 mg, and why do other labels show different amounts?

Ashwagandha labels measure different things. Some list the weight of the extract, some list the “root equivalent” (how much dried root went into making it), and some contain plain powdered root rather than an extract. Each r-veda® capsule contains 225 mg of KSM-66® extract, standardised to 5% withanolides. That is equivalent to 2,250 mg of ashwagandha root and provides 11.25 mg of withanolides. When comparing products, look at the type of extract and the withanolide content, not just the milligrams on the front.

When should I take it?

One capsule a day with food and a small glass of water. Take it at the same time each day so it becomes part of your routine; it sits in our evening Unwind ritual. Do not take more than one capsule a day.

Is it right for me?

It is not suitable for children, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you take any medication (including for thyroid, blood pressure, blood sugar, anxiety or sleep), have a medical condition or are due to have surgery, speak to your doctor or pharmacist first. Stop taking it and seek medical advice if you notice any side effects.
